I LOVED His Light in the Dark. A beautiful, complex, heart-wrenching story about friendship, Unconditional love, survival, and doing what you know is right no matter the cost. Overcoming the obstacles life throws in our way and coming out on the other side knowing you did everything possible. It's a story about finding yourself, even in the darkest corners, and realizing that you are stronger than you ever thought possible.Mia is such a strong character. Everything about her brings light to not only everyone else in the book, but to the entire read. I loved getting in her head and connecting with her. She had such a beautiful outlook on life and the way she accepted and loved Cole from the moment she met him was a testament to her character.Mace… oh God Mace Donati is the one character in this story that stood out the most to me. A wonderful father and role model. He was so strong and just so damn GOOD! I couldn't get enough of him and the way he changed Cole's life. The way he saved him and taught him and accepted him… the way he NEVER gave up on him. Mace was one of the real heroes in this story.Cole was so complex. He was sexy and mysterious while also being open to Mia and what she offered him. Friendship and light. He went through so much at such a young age but he was one of the lucky ones depending on how you look at it. His connection to Mace made him so real. A kid that didn't know any better finally had something worth living for. His circumstances dragged him deeper into the darkness, though, and it broke my heart to see such a genuine person broken into pieces. But he was so strong and he had Mia and Mace. He had a real family and despite the things he HAD to do to survive, he came out on the other side a real man with beautiful flaws and a heart of gold.Cole and Mia together was intense! Every encounter made my heart beat faster wondering what was going to happen, who was going to give in, what secrets were going to be told. I couldn't get enough of them. Their relationship is so brilliantly built from an undying friendship to love that conquers EVERYTHING!Every character in this book had such a significant role and the twists and turns were so intriguing and exciting, I just couldn't put this book down! OH MY GOD! It's so amazing! There are things you won't see coming, people you won't be sure you can trust, and you will find yourself sitting on the edge of your chair with your fingers shaking from anticipation. I LOVE LOVE LOVE this book!!This author writes such incredible characters and weaves a story that you can't help but fall into and never wish to climb out. This story will stay with me for a long, long time. It is one of my favorites of the year so far and I can't wait for more!5+++ STARS!!
