If someone had told me that Mark Gillespie was a horror story writer, I would not have tried his books. I don’t enjoy watching horror movies or reading ‘typical’ horror stories. I started out reading Mark’s apocalyptic/dystopian fiction and really enjoyed his style. Then I tried one of his horror stories; they’re quite different, and now, I can’t put them down!This novella starts out innocently enough, with a guy breaking up with his girlfriend, but then, buckle up, because all bets are off! Mark takes you on a wild ride where nothing is as it seems, and your guess as to what’s next...isn’t even close. Then you get to the surprise ending, and it takes a while before your pulse comes back down to normal. Another thoroughly enjoyable story! I received an ARC – this review is my honest opinion. I purchased a copy to support this awesome writer. I’ve now read and enjoyed over a dozen of Mark’s books and I’m looking forward to reading more soon.
