Working through the dark was very impactful. Asante laid his heart and history out in this book to help others through their struggles. While this book is hard to read due to hearing about the abuse faced it also shows that strength and resilience persevere. I loved that he talked about finding the lights even when it’s hard and the overtime reflections at the end of chapters really make you think about your life. I really enjoyed this book and plan to give it to students I work with that may be struggling. Asante, thank you for sharing your story!
